XI’AN IN 36 HOURS.
In February of 2019, Kathleen and I visited Xi’an, a ‘small’ Chinese city of only 8 million people. Though virtually unheard-of by much of the world, Xi’an (pronounced She-On) boasts the world-famous Terra Cotta Army, an incredible 14th-century city wall, and vibrant arts and nightlife.
Accompanied by Tonia and Naomi, two amazing people we ended up traveling with, we quickly fell in love with this underappreciated metropolis while narrowly avoiding death on a tandem bike, eating cabbage off of street planter boxes, fending off pesky balloon animal salespeople, struggling to open wine bottles, and much more.
